Excuse me, there is a consequence, be it a misunderstanding (or clearing one out, unfortunately less frequent than the misunderstanding and its worsening), fight, marriage, closing or breaking a deal, words have a way with people as much as people have a way with words and with their peers...
More than 70% of communication is non-verbal experts say, so what's to be done about the message itself, intonation, intention,clarity and efectiveness, the answer is quite easy: Keep it short, clear and simple. It is very tempting to show off your "wisdom" or word wizardry and complicate (at the best case scenario) things.
Written or spoken, say what you really mean and mean what you say, there are already way to many tools of communications but very few effective messages. Iwant-need this or that for this or that reason, can you help me? tends to be the simplest approach.
Life is simple, needs are as well, it is people who love to complicate things and/or justify themselves making things seem more complicated than they really are. In a nutshell:
